engineers ——> cooks
Is it just me or engineers do tend to be good at cooking? My sample size is very anecdotal, though.
I remember that the runner up of US MasterChef, David Miller, is a software engineer. My programming lecturer does a lot of cooking ‘experiments’ which always end up looking good - too bad I can’t share his facebook cooking album. My boyfriend’s housemate, Raj, is a chemical engineer and he seems to get every recipe right the first time. I know I’m a pretty good cook myself (and a soon-to-be engineer).
Probably it’s the environment we’re trained in. We’re systematic, precise and comfortable with constant troubleshooting. Physics plays a part too, I guess :P
